How do I cancel my order?

Cancellations are simple to manage through your account. While ezCater has a standard policy, keep in mind that individual restaurants may set their own specific fees or timelines.

Steps to cancel your ezCater order

You can use the self-service workflow to cancel your order up to 6 hours before your event time

  1. Sign in to your account and go to the Orders tab

  2. Select the Scheduled section to view upcoming orders

  3. Click Cancel next to the order you want to change

  4. Review the restaurant’s specific cancellation policy being displayed in the pop-up window and select the reason for canceling

  5. After you click Next and confirm your cancellation, check your inbox for an automated email confirmation and any applicable fees

Understanding cancellation fees

To make things predictable, we've standardized how fees are handled across the platform.

  • Standard policy: A 25% fee generally applies to orders canceled within 24 hours of delivery/pickup.

  • Restaurant-specific policies: Many restaurants set their own unique fees or cutoff times. You can find these details on the restaurant's page, and when you go to cancel the order.

  • Unaccepted orders: If a restaurant hasn't accepted your order yet, you won't be charged a fee for canceling.

  • Short-notice cancellations: Save time by using the self-service steps above for future cancellations. If you hit a snag or need to cancel on short notice (less than 6 hours), you can still reach us via live chat or by calling 1-800-488-1803.
